It seems Christmas has come early this year…

…at least in Disney Land’s California Adventure! For whatever reason, Duffy’s Christmas Outfit has already started showing up there. Whether this is an accident (and thus, possibly removed soon) or an early celebration, who knows! But be sure to check it out 🙂

More info on the US Costumes :) Including some upcoming ones!

Well, you guys may remember the costumes mentioned here–but now we have some better pictures of some of them and some new info thanks to the official Disney blog. Costumes are expected to debut in mid-October 🙂 Not only that, it seems they’re really promoting Duffy more this Halloween! (After all, it’ll be a year now that he’s in the parks :D)

The Halloween costume was inspired by the last year’s Tokyo Disney Sea’s 2010 Duffy costume and keychain which you can see below. Duffy will be joining Mickey at City Hall during Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party and be dressed up in his Halloween outfit to celebrate both there and at his Meet & Greet spots. His spot in Epcot will be given an Autumn-look while his area in Disney Land will be turned into a Pumpkin Patch.

The Sorcerer outfit looks even nicer every time I see it. The hat’s moon and stars light up with a button on the back. The way they mention how it is the first costume to use a light up feature seems like it won’t be the last.

The Aviator Costume looks MUCH nicer on. I also loved the way they did the picture–makes me think of Duffy’s new Meet & Greet Spot in Tokyo Disney Sea.

The exceptions to the Mid-October releases though are the Food Festival and Aulani Duffy. The Food Festival will be released along with when the Food Festival starts (September 30th) and the Aulani-dressed Duffy was released when the resort opened 🙂 And was apparently very popular–definitely a good sign!

And to end this, have a nice more-detailed version of the Mickey Mouse Club outfit from Duffy’s official Facebook. According to the official Disney Blog, it will be out early 2012 🙂

Not only that though, when mentioning the release date on the Mickey Mouse Club outfit, he also mentioned this: “There are several other costumes being introduced next year, including one that is very strong in The Force 🙂 But that’s another story…”

So expect some Star Wars themed costumes next year! <3

Pressed Pennies!

Now, for those who don’t know what Pressed Pennies are, they are special pennies that are gotten from machines. The machine takes your penny and smooths it out with a special design that you choose (though, some are random) 🙂 While Duffy has had quite a few in Tokyo Disney, he is getting some over here in various parts of Disney World (Mostly Epcot though!):

United Kingdom (Epcot), Mexico (Epcot), Germany (Epcot), France (Epcot)

Canada (Epcot), Animal Kingdom (Animal Kingdom), American Adventure (Epcot), Just Duffy (Most likely his Meet & Greet area in Epcot)

China (Epcot)

However, considering this is only 7/11 countries (Japan, Norway, Italy, and Morocco are missing), we can expect more pennies to be coming as well, hopefully. Maybe for the other parks like Magic Kingdom and the Water Parks (and park areas–IE: Fantasy Land, Tomorrow Land, etc.) too!

I really love them. I’ve collected Pressed Pennies on and off for a long time (I have albums full of them and several in special areas), but while I really want to try and get all of these, I know if I do, it’ll make me really upset when I’ve missed so many of the Tokyo Disney and Hong Kong Disney ones. 🙁 *sighs* Sometimes you just can’t win.

(Special thanks to updebrooke and Park Pennies for the pictures)

A Trip to the Fair

This is my first entry, isn’t it? 🙂 I managed to borrow the laptop and I’m really excited to write to you all! It has been a very…uninteresting year so I was very happy to have a chance to get out and spend some time with Duffy!

It was a long trip, but we got to see all kinds of pretty sights!

It was nice to be able to relax in the car for a bit 🙂

But I think we both enjoyed finally being out of the car the most! I mean, it was a really really long drive… we even took a nap at one point! This is the bedroom where we were staying 🙂

And this is the bag we usually traveled around in! It may look a little cramped, but it was actually quite cozy!

A Limited Edition Duffy

Now, Limited Edition Duffy aren’t new. In fact, besides the special Collectible Tokyo Disney bears that usually come out for the New Year, there have been several Toy Fair editions as well, several which were also made by the person/company who will be making this one–however, this is the first one to be for sale outside the Toy Festival when Duffy was simply “The Disney Bear”.

The special Duffy will cost 45,000 Yen and is limited to 2,500. It is made by Steiff of Germany.

It comes with a special medal, a bag similar to the little ones for the keychain Duffy, and in a really cute box.

The accessories are adorable, but I prefer the original Duffy, to be honest. …I also can’t justify the price.

Anyway, plenty of pictures coming up soon from our trip 🙂 Written by Ahim, herself! Also, you may notice we now have icons next to the name of the author who wrote the entry! 🙂 You can also click it to see all entries written by that user. Yay 😀

A Popcorn Bucket for Shellie May

It shouldn’t be too surprising that Shellie May has officially gotten her own popcorn bucket–she’s been catching up on special things that Duffy has (Personally, I’m expecting some more always available costumes for her) and Duffy has been getting a few things too (Like his actual sized bottle necklace).

The Bucket will be out September 5th and costs 3,200 Yen with the Strap (2,100 Yen without)

Besides that, you may see minor changes for the site–do not be alarmed. We’re just trying out some things 🙂

Duffy Dim Sum

Well, we know Tokyo Disney often does Duffy-shaped food items and while the US has had some cups and buckets made, it’s the food put in isn’t exactly Duffy Shaped (Though, I suppose finding a piece of popcorn similarly shaped would be possible!).

However, it seems Hong Kong Disney has also been joining in the festivities these last few months with special Duffy Dim-Sum in the hotel restaurants:

Disney World doesn’t tend to do much shaped stuff when it comes to food besides Mickey’s head–but there’s always the possibility of candy.

Upcoming stuff for Duffy in Disney World and Disney Land!

Well, thanks to D23, all of the original costumes previewed have now officially been made and are ready to go for sale. Not just that though, each preview outfit we’ve seen recently have as well! Including a few new surprises 😀

It’s nice to see the outfits didn’t change much from the prototype images! Even if some stuff ended up being removed 🙁 I know a lot of people were excited for the Aviator outfit’s goggles 🙂

Apparently the hat on the Sorcerer costume will light up which is also really neat. Not only that, but I think some of the outfits seem to have a bit of a higher quality to them which is always nice!

I also think the new Christmas costume is really cute 🙂 And it’ll be nice to have one for the full-sized bears!

However, I’m a little sad that the Epcot outfit is a pre-dressed 12 inch Duffy 🙁 That outfit is so cute. And the pre-dressed one for Aulani’s opening looks really cute too.

There’s also a cute little Duffy-sized suitcase which reminds me of the one for Duffy’s Travel Set at Tokyo Disney 🙂 (More in style than design though)

Photos and information thanks to Ursulalvr.

But yes, it’s nice to see they’re continuing with Duffy. I hope it stays that way!

And for those curious what’s changed/different with the costumes announced:
1. Halloween – No Pumpkin Basket.
2. Sorcerer – Part of the lower robe is slightly off.
3. Aviator – No scarf.
4. Mickey Hat Outfit – Black Pants instead of blue. Name of park under the logo.
5. Epcot Chef – No Spoon.

Duffy’s Halloween Costume here in the US!

Well, as expected, the new Halloween Costume is the one previously mentioned that comes on a 12 inch Duffy Bear 🙁 Despite the fact that it isn’t surprising, it’s still a bit sad as a lot of the outfits on the 12 inch ones are really cute. It’d be nice if they could just make an outfit in each size.

Photo thanks to Flylikeadove22

If you’re at D23 Expo though, you can pick it up early before it appears in Disney World and Disney Land 🙂 So be sure to pick it up if you can! <3

What are the differences between Disney Bear and Duffy?

While the Disney Bear is essentially what caused Duffy to be, there are still quite a few differences!

1. Just to get the obvious of the way, the story. The Disney Bear got their special face from Tinkerbell. On top of that, the gender is never actually. Duffy, on the otherhand, was made by Minnie and was confirmed a boy.

2. The Disney Bear’s Muzzle is actually a bit smaller/narrower while Duffy’s is bigger and rounder.

3. Disney Bear’s smile is much bigger, Duffy’s is a lot smaller.

4. The main difference is what they’re stuffed with. Duffy is stuffed with fluff and very soft while the Disney Bear is stuffed with Polyester. While still soft in their own way, Duffy is definitely much softer. However, this also helps make posing the Disney Bear a lot easier as it has less of a chance of flopping over.

5. Duffy’s fur is also a bit softer (though, if you gave the Disney Bear a nice wash over, it would be possible to make it that soft too).

6. The tail on a Disney Bear is a lot smaller.
