Duffy Travels – A Duffy the Disney Bear Fansite

Welcome to our very first review post! 🙂 I received some awesome items from Tokyo Disney thanks to The Duffy Post and they also arrived on my birthday (July 18th)! 🙂 I’ve been planning this for a while, but wanted to wait until Ahim managed to find her way out of where ever my mom put her as most of the stuff was for her (As Duffy already had some outfits!).

Anyway, this is mostly Be Magical! Stuff along with Shellie May’s necklace and a UniBEARsity outfit 🙂 Everything is incredibly well-made as usual.

Ahim was incredibly excited to look and see what was in the bag.

After finally finding her way back to Duffy, Ahim and Duffy are ready for some pictures.

Well, I did say Halloween stuff was confirmed… And they were announced recently 🙂 There is… a lot of stuff. It makes the one costume we’re getting here quite small, but Duffy HAS been around there longer! So maybe one day we’ll get a lot too. Anyway, to start, why not check out Duffy’s new story on his official site.

First, Duffy’s and Shellie May’s outfits… They cost 4500 Yen and 4800 Yen, respectively. As for why Shellie’s costs more–I’m guessing it’s because she has more accessories with her bow and the broom.

Next, we have some really cool stuff (ignoring the fact that all of these things are really awesome and cool from costumes to dessert). First of all, a special Duffy shaped Pumpkin (1000 Yen).

It can be worn as a necklace or held as a bucket AND it lights up.

We also have this lovely figurine (3200 Yen):

For those of you who have been sick of waiting for US Costume news–you’re in luck. Yesterday evening, the official Disney Land twitter posted the following update:

So yes, on the first day of the D23 Expo, Duffy’s Halloween Costume will be revealed!

It’ll most likely be the 12 inch one previously mentioned here, but the way they said it sounds like there’s a chance it may be a special costume in itself–here’s hoping! My bears would like some non-squished 12 inch outfits, thank you very much.

They just have a lot going for them, don’t they? I mean, not only these, but Halloween has been somewhat confirmed so expect some Halloween outfits in the next few weeks as well. Anyway, for those of you who have been wanting more Duffy themed accessories than just costumes and things for your bear, you will be happy to see some new stuff for you to use 🙂

First we have a diary and pen set for 2,200 Yen:

Also, if you have no use for a diary, it actually would work as a nice big notebook for your Duffy! 🙂

And we also have two 2012 calendars–a Duffy-themed one and a Shellie May themed one! Each one is 1,000 Yen.

Whichever you get, it comes with a special Penny-Pressed Coin you can’t get otherwise 🙂 :

I really like the diary–I think it looks incredibly nice. I’m not too big on the calendar though, however, having collected those pennies, I’d be tempted to get one just for that. Though, I may also be tempted if only to scan all the different pages (As I expect each “photo” of Duffy/Shellie May to be different depending on the month) 🙂 Hopefully someone who gets it will do that if I don’t!

Now if only when they displayed stuff on the Duffy Facebook page, it could appear in stores this fast…or if we could just get these kinds of items, period. But yes, for now we can stare and drool and hopefully get them some other way!

First, a new outfit for Duffy:

A new super cute sailor outfit 🙂 Kind of similar to the US one, except actually a full outfit. Hopefully this means a matching one for Shellie May will be out soon!

Besides that, there’s this wonderfully awesome accessory:

Duffy’s bottle necklace! It’s actual scale (unlike the big one from the Travel Pack, though, that one is still really cute) and looks really awesome. So definitely want it.

Then there’s also two new keychains–one of Duffy in his new sailor outfit and one of Duffy’s friend, Tippy Blue, from the “My Friend Duffy” musical.

It’s neat how Duffy’s line seems to be growing, isn’t it? But yes, so much cute stuff T~T Japan gets all the best things.

I’m sure some of you remember all the custom Duffy going around. While I have to say the sellers have been making it much clearer (thankfully!), it seems they don’t plan on stopping at bears. Recently, these began to pop up:

Yep, those are colored pins.

Judging by the look and what the seller says, it doesn’t look like they were painted, but rather covered in a satin or velvet-ish furry/fluffy material.

I don’t believe the prices are worth it, but I figured I’d point out if anyone has seen these, they are, indeed, customs. Though, I suppose I should’ve expected more custom stuff coming after seeing hats and shirts…

To think of other things, do take a look at this beautiful dress for your Duffy, Disney Bear, or Shellie May. *adds to list of things she wishes she could afford*

Hi fellow Duffy fans! I’m Nomi, and… this is my first post on this blog. I’ve been here from the start, I just tend to lurk more than actually post. 😉

I recently had the chance to explore Duffy’s character greeting at California Adventure in Anaheim, CA! 😀 So for all the curious people who read this…

Duffy hangs out in Paradise Pier, you should see his area once you cross the bridge.

Inside, it looks like this:

And right next to his tent, the gift shop attached has a lot of Duffy items! Does anyone want to buy Nomi (or contribute funds towards) that giant Duffy? He’s $75!

The best thing I found out is that nearly all the Duffy items were also found at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney too, so for those people who just want a Duffy without going into the theme parks, it’s possible! This concludes my post for now. If you have questions bout what I saw at California Adventure, please don’t hesitate to comment and ask away. 🙂

Wow, they’re just on a roll this month, aren’t they? Anyway, another costume preview image was posted up on Duffy’s Official Facebook this afternoon.

If it does come out, I’d expect it to be during the food festival at Epcot (September 30, 2011 – November 13, 2011). The Food Festival is personally my favorite time to go so I’m pretty excited. The only thing that possibly depresses me a bit is due to the theme, it could be a 12 inch Duffy instead of just an outfit.

However, that does bring up another thought, there is a chance that those two previous costumes could come out first (sure, they don’t always follow in order, at least not with the original promo images from the Passholder Event, but when it comes to posting up these kinds of things, they’ve been in order thus far) which at least gives us some kind of timeframe. Let’s hope they really are real costumes and that they will come out soon 🙂

Besides that, we’ll have a new special segment here on Duffy Travels soon–we’re just waiting for a few minor tidbits to be taken care of 🙂 If you’re curious, maybe you should try figuring out which category is new.
