A Trip to the Fair

This is my first entry, isn’t it? 🙂 I managed to borrow the laptop and I’m really excited to write to you all! It has been a very…uninteresting year so I was very happy to have a chance to get out and spend some time with Duffy!

It was a long trip, but we got to see all kinds of pretty sights!

It was nice to be able to relax in the car for a bit 🙂

But I think we both enjoyed finally being out of the car the most! I mean, it was a really really long drive… we even took a nap at one point! This is the bedroom where we were staying 🙂

And this is the bag we usually traveled around in! It may look a little cramped, but it was actually quite cozy!

One of the first places we went happened to be this really cute restaurant called “Jay’s Diner”! I loved the colors and it even had a cute radio we could play! We used it throughout our entire meal 😀

After that, we headed to the lake…to our surprise, there was actually something going on!

A special event to encourage safety! It even had history on a lot of police officers and fire fighters 🙂 We did our best to look patriotic.

We got to see some older firetrucks and other vehicles.

After, we headed inside to see some of the other exhibits! 🙂

There was a Dalmatian walking around as their mascot! While he gave us a hug, we didn’t get to get a picture due to a line that had formed… we made sure to at least get a picture with this one to make up for it! 🙂

We then headed off to check out the sights around the lake 🙂

There were all kinds of things to look at–we never could decide where to look first!

In honor of the convention, there were free rides at the Carousel until later that evening 😀 I had never been on one so I was super excited to ride a horse!

Duffy, however, felt that would be a bit “girly” as he put it, so I decided to ride again and sit with him on the chairs! They were really comfortable.

We then continued our tour of the sights!

Don’t be fooled! It may look like a beach, but this is still the lake 🙂 Designed to look like a beach so people here could have one despite not being on the coast! Isn’t that nice?

We then got to take a look at the pier! It was so long… We ended up just taking a break and enjoying everything around us.

After that, we headed to a Mall 🙂 They were celebrating their 40th anniversary!

They had so many pretty fountains!

We stopped by a Build a Bear!

Duffy really liked this car, but we couldn’t afford it…

But we did get some other awesome things 🙂

We then headed back to where we were staying and relaxed on the balcony! And yes, that is an egg.

The next day, it was time for the fair! 🙂

There were so many sights to see!

I even got to be the Dairy Princess 🙂

We then took some seats on the Bleachers to watch the cows! We event got to pet some 😀

Then we headed to see more animals! And got to pretend to be bunnies 🙂

Duffy preferred to relax a bit, but I loved seeing so many animals. I made sure to get some pictures with a few of my favorites. And of course, sometimes he still joined me!

We then went and checked out the Horse Show! It was really neat–they were recording how far the horses could pull the farmer’s vehicle.

After that, we headed back to where we were staying 🙂 And then after some days of recovering from our day at the fair, we headed home! Due to many delays though, Duffy and I just decided to take a nice long nap–it definitely left us feeling refreshed, but I do hope we can do more again soon!
