Just a quick test :)
It won’t take long, I promise <3
It won’t take long, I promise <3
We have received some mail about requesting a twitter and/or facebook page for the blog. Would people actually be interested in those? We could set them up (and have them update when this blog updates), but I’d only want to if people really want to have them 🙂
Besides that, a big thank you to those who have linked our website! We really appreciate it 🙂
Edit: Since Facebook had received 5 votes, made a new poll just for Twitter to better keep track 🙂
In TDS next Spring, Duffy will be having a new special event called “Mickey and Duffy’s Spring Voyage”. It will be from April until June. It involves Duffy and Mickey on a trip together to show Minnie and Shellie-May springtime around the world at the different ports 🙂 Each stop will celebrate the arrival of Spring.
It sounds very cute and definitely fits the theme super well 🙂 I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up recurring each year. There will also most likely be many different outfits so be sure to save! Hopefully more details will be out soon!
Hong Kong Disney seems to be continuing on their new stuff streak with a new photo album all decked out in Duffy awesomeness:
(Check out the auction here for more information)
I’d probably use mine as some kind of scrap book over a photo album but it is REALLY cute.
And as expected, there’s a lot 🙂 Not to mention much cheaper and some items returning from last year. On a very happy note, everything is 4,000 Yen or less with the exception of one item (which is 6,000 Yen). You may see everything here and it seems there is more to come!
First, we have Duffy’s and Shellie May’s Christmas outfits. Two are new and two are returning from last year 🙂
Duffy’s and Shellie May’s new Christmas clothes will be 3,800 Yen each while Duffy’s returning one is 3,300 Yen and Shellie May’s returning one is 2,500 Yen.
Also, as no surprise, keychains in each outfit at 1,500 Yen each 🙂
Then there’s a Greeting Card at 450 Yen and a sticker sheet at 500 Yen.
Coin purses for 1,700 Yen each (featuring their Christmas outfits from last year that didn’t return):
Next, Adorable Jointed Charms (900 Yen each) and Plushie Charms (1300 Yen each)
Then we have a Tea set 🙂 The cup is 2,200 Yen and the Pot is 3,400 Yen.
Then there’s a Keepsake Box figurine (2600 Yen) and a Wreath Ornament (2800 Yen).
There is also a tote bag (2900 Yen) and a little zipper pouch (1800 Yen) along with a Mini Towel (1600 Yen) and a Blanket, which is the only item over 4000 Yen at 6,000 Yen.
And of course, a pillow to go with that blanket if you’d like at 3,900 Yen.
Then edible things!
The stocking is filled with Caramel Almond flavored hard candy (500 Yen), The big tin has Chocolates–in Chocolate and Strawberry flavor (900 Yen), the flat tin has Cookies in Butter and Cinnamon Sugar flavors (1200 Yen), and finally, the final set is a jar of honey and a tin of Apple Tea (1400 Yen) 🙂
And as always, for dessert:
The Dessert Cups are 600 Yen each while the Plates are 700 Yen each.
Now, I’ll admit, I’m super sad I won’t be able to get any of these. I just… don’t have the money this year. And it sucks as I love Christmas–it’s my favorite season so I had been looking forward to these items the most. And even the stuff I loved best from last year came back. T__T
If I could afford to, I’d definitely get both of Shellie May’s outfits and Duffy’s old Christmas outfit. And if I had some spare money, I’d want the Greeting Card and Sticker set, the Jointed Charms, and the Tea cup and pot (I love old styled Tea cups and Tea pots). I’d also be tempted to get the Honey and Apple Tea and the Wreath Ornament. (And as will be mentioned below, if I had tons of money, I’d probably get the blanket too)
Alas, I can not 🙁 (and you have no idea how sad this makes me ._.)
As for the other items, well, I never really cared too much for keychains or coin purses as nice as they are. As much as I love keepsake boxes, I always think Shellie May looks a bit odd on them. I really don’t care much for the bag designs, though, I love the little charms and little picture on them and wish I could just have those. Mini Towel is cute but I’d have no clue what to do with it. The Blanket I’d probably end up just using as a prop with my bears and while I’d love to do that, I don’t have the money at all to get something just as a prop with my bears. I have mixed feelings on the pillow that I can’t properly explain. And the candy is great and I expect it to taste good, but I try and just pick one as to resist.
As for the dessert plates and cups… we have so many mugs and plates like that I think my family would kill me. XD Other issue is I like parts of each, but not either completely.
But yes, what does everyone else think? 🙂
I always feel bad Hong Kong Disney doesn’t have more entries, so I try my best to find new things relating to it 🙂 Hopefully EuroDisney/Paris Disney will have new stuff too coming this Winter.
Anyway, in Hong Kong Disney, Cast Members give out a special Duffy Name Card:
(Photos and info thanks to Duffy Brings Love Tumblr)
I have to say, that is really cute.
The excerpt on the back:
DUFFY – Duffy the Disney Bear is the bear-y newest member of the Disney character family. He’s the toy bear which Minnie made herself and gave to Mickey as a special gift at Christmas time to keep him company on his travels.
A picture was posted over on the official Disney blogs, so for those who have been looking forward to seeing it:
I think it’s pretty cute. Too bad I won’t be there. Remember, the shirt is limited to 1,000 total (250 in Disney Land and 750 in Disney World).
Besides that, some bigger images of the Cannery Co. Outfits:
(Photos thanks to Deep Disney and mickaymm)
They’re definitely nice, but I still don’t know if they are worth being such a high price. Will edit this when a better picture of Duffy’s outfit shows up 🙂
Well, Duffy will have officially been in the parks here for 1 year! ^_^ In both Disney parks, they will be releasing a special book for Duffy based off his very first book in Japan–Duffy the Disney Bear: Mickey’s New Friend:
Listen to a read version – I will have it transcribed below.
The story starts off very similar to the Tokyo Disney one and there aren’t too many changes, but I think the biggest are that they removed Duffy’s bottle (Probably as this takes place more Modernly while Duffy in TDS is in “Old Cape Cod”) and they mostly present Duffy as… a Toy Story Toy. As in, it seems like a toy but once in a while, you swear they did something, and when you aren’t looking, there they are being alive and happy and a bit more animated than you remember. The Japanese has Duffy as a character who they know has come to life so it’s very interesting how they went along with this. While it also has a lot of the Toy Story Toy effect, there’s a few more obvious signs of Duffy not being just that (and even a mention to how sometimes you can see him wandering around by himself). The US story is also longer than the Japanese one. I do hope the story will make him more popular though.
The book will be out the same day as Duffy’s anniversary–October 14th. The author, Monty Maldovan, will be in Epcot signing autographs from 11AM to 1PM. As a bonus, if you are an annual passholder, you can also get a special limited edition T-Shirt for your 17-inch Duffy to wear to celebrate (So upset I won’t be there until November ._.). The first 750 to show their Annual Pass to a Cast Member at Epcot and the first 250 to show their Annual Pass to a Cast Member at Treasures in Paradise at Disney California Adventure when the shops are opening will receive the special T-Shirt. (*ENVIES*) Duffy will also be meeting people in his Halloween outfit 🙂
Also, keep in mind, the “I hugged Duffy!” stickers will no longer be given out when Duffy’s 1 year anniversary hits so if you want one, make sure to try and get to Disney World before then!
Anyway, it’s not too surprising as they did touch upon Duffy’s story a bit during the walk up to meet him (It’s along the path/line) at the Friendship Gazebo so hopefully maybe the other stories will come at some point too or even just more in general.
It’s times like these where I wish I knew more about this story. Anyway, for those who’d rather read than watch the video (As a warning, I will not put up any pictures. You can see them in the video but since the person put a lot of effects, I’d feel bad using them)–please be sure to pick up the book regardless!: (more…)
